INNOVATION IN PHYSICS by Mukul Gupta Physics PGT DMA

Science without religion is lame
Religion without science is blind
                              - Albert Einstein

Physics is at the heart of innovation all around us. From laptops to sat-naves and mobiles, its in your home, in your ear and in your pocket. Physics helps you get more work done and enjoy more time off. It gets you where you are going and keeps you safe. We as physicists know that, but does the rest of the world is aware of this fact?
We at DMA, are doing so much and putting our efforts in making physics more interesting and innovative. Under the able guidance of physics department our young and talented students have made various amazing projects.

Some of them are as-
1. A remote control camera car has been designed by one of our creative genius Shrey Sinha of class XII from old toy scraps. This gadget can be used in all terrains for spying in militants area.
2. Aditya Saxena another budding innovator made IF based data transferring system used in  telephones for underwater communications.
3. I Mukul Gupta PGT physics made Meta-material based antenna which can be used  telephones for under water communications.
Juhi Pant our skilled enthusiast concocted a water purification by coffee grounds which was selected for IFT a prestigious platform.

At DMA we have created a science club with a purpose to utilize and generate our young minds in innovative idea and projects, where our students implements their ideas in making new projects. By the valuable guidance of our honourable Principal Dr.(Mrs) Ritu Dewan we have designed a unique Robotics laboratory. Here our junior and senior students altogether apply and try their hands in an advance branch of physics.
To enhance knowledge and critical thinking of every child DMA keeps conducting seminars and conferences at various levels. We also keep organizing project presentations and science exhibition to promote our bright scholars.
DMA has also been awarded first prize in creating innovative projects in inter- school competitions by Pearl organized Academy.
DMA has also participated in Regional CBSE science Exhibition every year. We have related physics scientific theory with real life and also made our mark in various competitions.

Scope of Chemistry

Chemistry is one of the basic sciences. Knowledge of chemistry is indispensable for the pursuit of any of the other sciences. We need it for the study of Technology, Pharmacology, Mineralogy, and what not. It is indispensable for the study of physics, geology, biology and physiology. Hence it is a compulsory subject of study for every science student.
In the modern industrial age this importance is even more widely felt. It is needed in workshops, in laboratories, in medical clinics, on farm lands, as well as in various manufacturing processes.
It would be almost impossible to enumerate all the departments of science in which the services of the chemist are required or of uses to which this science is put. Everything is made of chemicals. Many of the changes we observe in the world around we see that caused by chemical reactions. Chemistry is very important because it helps us to know the composition, structure& changes of matter.
The Importance of Chemistry
We are living in an age of synthetic products. The increased demand for various natural products and the fact that they may not be easily available everywhere has led to a new development in the world of chemistry. Today natural products are often created artificially by chemical processes Natural indigo has been completely superseded by equivalent synthetic dyes. Real silk manufactured from the cocoon is a costly product and is not readily obtained in all climatic conditions. This has given rise to a large industry of artificial silk. There is nothing that cannot be done with plastics—from clothing to buildings. These examples will give an idea of the role that chemistry will play in the new age that is coming.
Ally of Medical: In the science of medicine, the use of chemistry is fundamental. The men who dispense the prescriptions of the physician are rightly called ‘chemists’. Chemical research goes hand in hand with medical research. Thus the development of organic chemistry has revolutionized the basis of modern medicine. The discovery, of wonder-drugs like penicillin and streptomycin, and the application of the chemistry of dyes to therapeutics have brought about incalculable benefits to humanity.
How it helps Dietetics: The new science of vitamins has added to the importance of the chemistry of food. The war time shortage of food led to the invention of various concentrated chemical foods and helped to make up deficiencies in the quality and content of food. The science of Biochemistry indeed has developed into an important branch of Chemistry, the value of which in relation to the phenomenon of life is full of possibilities.
As an aid to agriculture: The use of chemistry for the agriculturist is also very great. Chemical fertilizers are effectively re-enforcing primitive forms of manure greatly to the enrichment of the soil. Indeed, soil chemistry is a fruitful subject of study and research, particularly in an agricultural country like India.
In Wars – The contribution of chemical science to military science involving destruction is as great as its creative side. It has helped the large- scale production of glycerin and nitric acid and thus stimulated the manufacture of high-grade explosives in ever-increasing quantities.
Chemistry of today is actually helping in solving major problems of our present day civilization such as population explosion ,food and diseases, depletion of sources of energy and environmental problems. Green chemistry lays emphasizes on processes and products that reduce or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances.

LIVE CLASSES AT DMA

Dayawati Modi Academy achieved another milestone by conducting first online live classroom teaching. While many schools are still struggling to perfect online teaching methodology, DMA is setting new benchmarks in the field of quality education in the testing times of COVID Pandemic. No stones have been left unturned in constantly evolving with the need of the hour to ensure academic enrichment of the students while they remain safe at their homes. Teachers are able to reach 400 students in one single attempt and after the lesson students' interaction is taken up in small groups. Apart from academics yoga, activities,  guided meditation , prayers and value education by story telling are also taken up through live classes.

The whole world is reeling under the most crucial time of COVID-19. Everyone is in the state of dilemma. Each one is entangled in the nexus of anxiety and uncertainty. Social –Distancing mandate has changed the Education Dynamics all across the world. Now everyone needs to step into ‘New Normal ’to move on. It has become essential for all the educational institutions to devise new ways to function and grow.
Keeping in sync with the directives from government , curb the loss of students right at the time when the new session was about to begin and to keep the students engaged whilst ensuring their safety in their homes, Online classes are being run by many educational institutions.  These online classes through suitable web- based video conferencing tool not only keep the students engaged but also keep them connected with the school and their teachers, staying safe in their homes.
However, for the teaching faculty, staying on the top of day to day teaching operations whilst maintaining  the cyber safety in all respects and following the  regulations of social distancing is very challenging .Moreover, inculcation of  New Age skills like Adaptability, Resilience, creativity, compassion and competence among  the 21 century learners,  deeming it as the part of holistic education  and their prime concern, Educational institutions are sparing no stone unturned to reach out the students in all  best possible ways by organizing spate of activities calendared to be conducted during lockdown period.
Owing to all these efforts put in by the school management and the teaching faculty, it becomes moral obligations  on the part of parents community to support the school management by depositing the fee of their wards so that  the salaries of teaching , non teaching and support staff can be released amidst this financial crunch and hardships faced by the teaching  faculty can be shared to some extent .There is no relevance behind the hue and cry of the parents regarding waiving off or moratorium of the  fee of their children during lockdown. As the schools buildings may be shut but the education is on. Teachers are working hard day and night.  They are putting in their best efforts to make their teaching more comprehensible and interesting by using all the digital resources. They are only a call away from their children. This is no denying the fact that in the prevailing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, parents fraternity may also have to face many problems but those parents who can afford to pay should accommodate it in their budget now rather than facing the burden later.

COVID-19 SPARKING A NEW REALIZATION IN EDUCATION

Human race today, has been braving the gigantic ever challenges unleashed by the  world-wide Covid-19 monster. Obviously, how couldthe education sector remain untouched. With the school buildings echoing the story of Lock- down and students stranded at homes, it seems that future of the young ones is caught in a limbo. But, true education is what is inspiring, encouraging and meaningful no matter what the challenges are  in its eco –system. There can be no better time than today,to make peace with the period of uncertainty and stay optimistic as we all are journeying together in this and learning something new each day. Educational institutions are gearing up to adopt thenew dynamics in education in consonance with the present- day need as learning is what must go on.On-line learning is substituting the chalk and talk teaching.Teachers are substantiating the e- learning resources with recorded you- tube lessons, e-notes and e-assignments and what not.Parents as the active partners with school, taking the back seat in the e-class, are becoming savvy with the school e- resources. Eventually,we are on the way to frame a new learning system that is resilient yet unified offeringmyriads of options to all its stakeholders and ensuring quality benchmark as well.

The economic slow-down creeping all around  isthe challenge inflicting educational institutions as well. Apart from the striving hard for making learning an  ongoing  process for students  in these most testing times ,the Academy  continues to meet their commitment and responsibility of releasing salary to the teaching and non-teaching staff,house-keeping ,security etc.Certainly it is the the regular flow of fundsthat  keeps a system life-giving and  pulsating. So parents must continue their financial commitment to schools. We must remember that it’s a temporary phase and our school is  ever dedicated to minimize  disruption to education so that when life resumes to normal, our students have an edge over others in this competitive world. They do not fall behind or face difficulty in reaching the required level of competence. At DMA, we ensure that each child is well equipped with the entire spectrum of 21st century skills with the focus on the band of his/her innate strength and interest. Alsowe  intend to offer the options for choosing from on-line classes and  face to face classes for the students in the future.
So,we all ,especially the more fortunate ones need to understand the clarion call of the challenging times and  take it as a moral responsibility to respond positively and encouragingly to the best of our abilities.

The Corona pandemic has made a global impact in the past months and continues to hit most of the sectors, with education being one of the most affected ones. The situation has forced the schools to shut down much before the lockdown announced by the government. The education sector in India is rapidly evolving with most schools and institutions coming up with the idea of online classes for students to start their respective academic years, instead of wasting time due to the delay in reopening of schools. India's school-age population of around 300 million is suddenly having to home educate. The technological inroads are also what keeps the field bubbling in the private education sector in India with an estimated 350,000 schools and 8.7 million teachers.
The schools have taken their responsibility to continuously keep their students engaged in academics and other activities very seriously. They did not lose any time in evolving and gearing up to meet the challenges posed by the pandemic and consequent lockdown. The schools and the teachers have put in their best efforts to ensure a safe, continuous and highly interactive mode of teaching through the online classes and have been successful in this endeavour. The students are today getting educated from the safety and comfort of their homes. Even the parents are now able to monitor the education of their children. Most of the parents acknowledge this herculean effort made by the schools but sadly there are some who do not realise or recognise the good efforts of the schools to ensure a continuous upgrading of the knowledge base of the students. They have no idea of the hard work put in by the teachers to plan classes, prepare and master technology needed for the classes, set up an adequate working environment, innovate and encourage maximum participation, motivate the students and keep regular communication with them, and last but not the least, be available all the time to help them with their problems.
All these good efforts by the schools are hurt by the illogical demand of some parents to exempt the fees during lockdown period. They fail to realise that just like them, the school and its staff also needs finances to continue operating even in such adverse conditions. The schools have not shirked from their duties towards the students; parents also need to do their part. It is incumbent, on every member of the populace, to be aware that a joint, cohesive and concerted effort, alone, can result in success in this struggle. This would involve certain sacrifices which each one of us has to make. We cannot afford, in such a situation, to balk at inconveniences. Even the honourable Delhi High Court has pointed out – “"We unhesitatingly place, on record, our wholehearted appreciation, of the efforts of teachers, and schools, towards this end. So long as schools are disseminating education online, they are certainly entitled to charge tuition fees. Rather, the expenditure involved in disseminating education online may, conceivably, be much greater than that involved in classroom teaching. Providing e-education is no child's play." Unaided schools, which receive no funds from the government, are entirely dependent on fees, to defray their daily expenses. The requirement of payment of tuition fees is necessary for the simple reason that tuition fees cover salary, establishments and curricular activities, the expenditure which continues to be incurred by schools, even during the period of lockdown, and before they are able to resume normal work.
The educational process needs to go on unhindered to ensure that our beloved children are in regular touch with their academics. This is possible only when parents come forward and do their bit by paying the fee in full. There is no surety about when the world will be rid of the COVID threat, hence we need to adapt to the required changes physically, mentally and emotionally. We need to accept that online education is the need of the hour and will remain an important part of the educational system in future too.
