A Call for Global Peace From DMA on
International Peace Day
21st
September is observed as International Peace Day and Patel House celebrated
this day to strengthen and commemorate the ideals of peace within and among
all.
The
celebration initiated with prayer followed by thought for the day proclaiming
peace as an integral part for human existence. Its absence makes our challenges
and our struggles much more difficult.
Shruti
Chauhan in her inspiring speech exhorted on development of inner peace and nurturing
attitudes that promote the expansion and integration of peaceful principles.
After
the motivational words vouched in favour of peace, Sakshi Sharma recited her
poem enveloping this small word with a deeper meaning attached to it as well as
its different interpretations, perspectives and understandings yet the meaning
is one but for one’s own self.
Next
followed the group song by choir students with the beautiful message that peace
can be reached within, at the right time,
through mutual sympathy, values,
attitudes and ways of life, that rejects conflicts. Thereafter the Patel House
students presented “Peace March” where Tanish Arora as Gandhiji spread the
message of universal brotherhood overcoming the constant fight going on ,inside
us in the form of good versus evil. He urged to be on the path of peace to have
no strife of conflicts, wars and terrorism.
After
the meaningful message by Gandhiji, the epitome of peace and non violence,
another power packed enactment by Nimisha as Mother Teresa stole the show. As
her words have cast a magical aura where all the unrest
within us got settled as peace has the true power of moving the mountains. In
the same way, when we put our problems in God’s hands, he puts his peace in our
hands.
Up
next , the students took the pledge to maintain peace in speech, actions,
conduct and by uniting together in all respect to create a safe haven for one
and all.
Mrs
Geeta Arora in her speech apprised that flourishing culture of peace will
generate the mindset that is a prerequisite for the transition from force to
reason, from conflict and violence to dialogue and peace.
After that honourable
Principal Dr (Mrs) Ritu Dewan appreciated the efforts being put up by the
students and the teachers of Patel House in presenting peaceful, serenading and
yet meaningful assembly. She also urged that each one of us can make an active
choice each day through seemingly small acts of kindness, compassion,
forgiveness, co-operation and understanding and thereby contributing to the
establishment of peace all around.
