Independence Day Celebration – A Report
“All Powerful Lord of Liberty

Keeping the spirit of patriotism alive, Tagore House conducted a marvelous assembly on 15th August 2017 to celebrate the 71st Independence Day with immense patriotic zeal and enthusiasm.
The assembly was a unique almalgamation of the patriotic fervor, the zest and festive spirit of “Krishna Janmashtmi” and the felicitation of meritorious scholar badge and 100% attendance holders of classes VII and VIII for the session 2016-17. It was beautifully hosted by Archee Pal (XII-D) and Abhiyanshu (XI-D).
Honorable Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Dewan unfurled the tricolor followed by full throated rendition of national anthem by staff and students. A power packed well synchronized cultural bonanza comprising inspirational speech, group songs, skit and orchestral composition reverberating the ambience with national spirit, colourful dance to the tunes of patriotic songs envisaging the glorious past aroused a sense of pride and nationalism in every heart.
Pallavi Raj (X-A) and Swarnima (IX-B) in their thought provoking speech highlighted the significance of the day and emphasized that we should sincerely perform our duties to lead this great democratic nation. Shruti Solanki recited an eloquent poem. To charge the environment with religious fervor, children presented a graceful dance on “Kanha Soja Zara” which left everyone mesmerized.
It was a proud moment when 100 students of classes VII and VIII were honored with scholar badges and certificate of merit for their commendable performance in the academic session 2016-17. 72 students who remained present throughout the session despite adverse weather conditions received the badges for 100 % attendance. Shrey Sinha (IX-K) was honored with the certificate for securing Silver and Bronze level in PCRA.
In her inspiring and motivational address to the august gathering the principal enumerated the selfless service and sacrifice made by our freedom fighters and great leaders for the nation. She appealed that it is our moral duty to keep our national flag fly high maintaining the nation’s unity, integrity and sovereignty. She urged that we should pledge to make India clean, digital, and one of the greatest nations of the world. She also exhorted that we should understand the true philosophy of life and karma and try to imbibe it in our life to make it more meaningful. She congratulated all the achievers for their accomplishment and regularity in school.
The auspicious program came to a close with distribution of sweets.

REPORT ON SENIOR CITIZENS’ DAY

On a monsoon morning, DMA gathered to celebrate Senior Citizens’ Day in the sprawling lush green lawns of the school. It’s a day when the elders of the family were paid respect and the students expressed their gratitude to them.
A special assembly on Senior Citizen Day started with an inspiring thought for the day by Ishika Goel which was followed by a melodious bhajan from Ramcharit manas by Tanay. Nehru House students recited poems and expressed their concern regarding the senior citizens. Students of class IX presented a skit which highlighted that due to the busy life of the new generation they forget to take care of their parents who have sacrificed a lot to give the best to their children. A power packed foot tapping number was presented in colourful costumes by the students led by Khushi Wadhwa which mesmerized everyone present. Oath was administered by Abhiyanshu to emphasize that the upcoming generation should take good care of the elders, show appreciation and be concerned about them.
Our revered Principal Dr (Mrs) Ritu Dewan expressed her views to bring about a positive change in the outlook of the present generation. They should imbibe the values of respect, honour, love and care for their grand parents. She urged the students that the grand parents are the pillars of every family and the children should follow their path of dedication, motivation and aspiration.
The assembly concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.

REPORT ON INTER HOUSE  G.K.QUIZ COMPETITION


An Inter House G. K. Quiz Contest was organized on 29 th July 2017 for the students of classes IX and XI wherein they showcased their prowess and knowledge in current affairs, social science, literature, music, cinema, sports and science and technology. The event was hosted by the Chief House Co-ordinator  Mrs.  Anita Dogra. The sole purpose of the contest was to provide a wonderful opportunity to the students to look beyond the text books, explore the new world and test their knowledge in various fields. It is highly appreciable that the participants of all the four houses and the audience maintained discipline and zealously participated in the contest. The competition comprised of seven rounds. Finally a rapid fire round wrapped the contest. 1st position was bagged by Nehru House, 2nd position by Gandhi and 3rd position by Patel House.
On this occasion the revered Principal Dr. (Mrs) Ritu Dewan, in her motivational speech appreciated the efforts of the participants and underlined that such competitions are the need of the hour to provide opportunities to the young minds for their intellectual development and grooming of their potential and skills. She encouraged the students saying that zealous participation is more important than winning and losing. Such events make us learn new things and build up confidence. She congratulated the winning teams for their commendable performance.
