REPORT ON
SENIOR CITIZENS’ DAY
10 August 2017
Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy,
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust
On a monsoon morning, DMA gathered to celebrate
Senior Citizens’ Day in the sprawling lush green lawns of the school. It’s a
day when the elders of the family were paid respect and the students expressed
their gratitude to them.
A special assembly on Senior Citizen Day started
with an inspiring thought for the day by Ishika Goel which was followed by a
melodious bhajan from Ramcharit manas by Tanay. Nehru House students recited
poems and expressed their concern regarding the senior citizens. Students of
class IX presented a skit which highlighted that due to the busy life of the
new generation they forget to take care of their parents who have sacrificed a
lot to give the best to their children. A power packed foot tapping number was
presented in colourful costumes by the students led by Khushi Wadhwa which
mesmerized everyone present. Oath was administered by Abhiyanshu to emphasize
that the upcoming generation should take good care of the elders, show
appreciation and be concerned about them.
Our revered Principal Dr (Mrs) Ritu Dewan expressed
her views to bring about a positive change in the outlook of the present
generation. They should imbibe the values of respect, honour, love and care for
their grand parents. She urged the students that the grand parents are the
pillars of every family and the children should follow their path of
dedication, motivation and aspiration.
The assembly concluded with the rendition of the
national anthem.
